10/19/2005 "..Really nice club but many BBW's. Not too many couples hooking up because the crowd looked like a 1980 high school reunion for the most part. I am 40 and I felt like a kid again. People that run the place are really friendly and it's BYOB. Visited there before and at least this time there wasnt this little skinny old man who runs around in his undies but there was a BBW who was a little too proud to be her size. Maybe I'm being too critical but danmn....vitorias secret should not have plus sizes. Maybe the club owners should do like the speed dating places and have parties geared towards age...like an under 40's party, etc. And the DJ, well.....haven't heard Robert Palmer in a loooong time. 7/3/2005 "..It really depends on the type of party they are having. I loved the Paramour Blue party and definitely reccommend requesting an invite for that. Usually a good age range on those nights. The vibe is very comfortable and friendly. Also, for single females like me and my friend who went with me, it felt very safe and we had a great time and met some fun couples and some hot fun girlies as well. Avoid the Velvet Swirl. I repeat: Avoid the Velvet Swirl. Not a good night to go for more laid back, freespirited party goers. There were soooooooooo many unattended single guys up in the VIP. It seemed to be mostly single men at that party. The vibe was very stand-offish and uncomfortable. The party goers at that time seemed very aggressive and "in-your-face." My friend and I did not feel safe at all and left early. The club itself is very fun and I love the layout. Just choose your theme nights wisely. " - - Sarah

6/26/2005 "..Went to one of the Velvet Curtain Parties 06-26. We have visited a number of the Dallas Clubs throughout the years and used to frequent the playpen. The Curtain is a really nice club mostly because it is private and on-premise. The people who run it are friendly and will help you have a good time any way they can. Now for the bad. A lot of the ladies attending were 'living large'. The few that were under 200 were older ladies...well kept...but when I say older, I mean that quite a few were grandmothers. A suggestion to the VC staff. Since some of your parties are geared towards a certain clientel...could you maybe have a party that is geared towards younger smaller couples? Maybe play some music besides disco and have some contests or something....anything to bring in a younger, thinner clentel! " - - Mesquite Man

We were regulars at Souci for awhile, dropped into Playpen a couple of times and I would say that we enjoy this place a lot. 10/8/2003 "..We've been to other clubs in the Dallas area and in reality, none compare to The Velvet Curtain. The best club in the area. The atmosphere is fabulous and the owners achieve the ultimate in friendship and giving anyone there a safe place to play and dance. On our first visit we were welcomed with open arms and given a tour of the building and showed to our seats, and we weren't stuck in the back by a bathroom. The people have been gracious and very friendly and welcome us each time we walk in the door. Expect to be greeted when you walk in the door and have the best time of your life....behind the velvet curtain.
